Beginning of the End

Boots: AMI, Leggings: I honestly have no idea, Dress: H&M (Bought in Italy!), Belt: thrifted, Vest: thrifted, Necklace: gift from Mom (Good job Mom!)

I had my last Physics lab of college yesterday and my American Literature class only meets one more time. It's the beginning of the end, folks. In two weeks I will stop being a student (for the time being at least) and begin a whole new adventure. But I have to keep my head in the game somehow for the time being. This thesis on Communist Linguistics isn't going to write itself.

Although my outfit was cozy, it wasn't quite equal to the challenge of the Kansas wind and winter so this is actually what I looked like most of the day.

Ahh, textures. I just love them, don't you?

Competitive

Sweater: thrifted, Gap; Scarf: thrifted, Charlotte Russe; Pants: thrifted, Gloria Vanderbilt, Boots: Charlotte Russe

Something about these prints together makes me happy even if they do seem to fight each other a little bit. It was a grey and cold first day back at school after a break and I needed something to make me happy and this did the trick.

Making homemade Hawaiian stuffed crust pizza for dinner didn't hurt either.

Stay warm!

I Has a Family

Over Thanksgiving, we took family pictures. Go us.
Here's the hi-light reel.

All the kids.

My John.

My lovely parents.

Brothers!

Us.

We took a "good" family picture, but this was my favorite.
I love my family so very much.

Let's Do This

Blouse: thrifted; skirt: thrifted; Tights: Hue

(Bah indoor pictures and visible remotes. Forgive me. My brain is fried.)

I'm back at school for the last time.
Two weeks to graduation.
Let's do this.

The Wedding Files #7: The BACHELORETTE

Good friends, good food, great night.
Perfect end to a perfect Saturday.
And that's all I have to say about that.

The Paint Brush of Fall

It's Thanksgiving Break, friends, and I'm en route to Iowa.
Enjoy the pictures of fall-y-ness in Kansas in the meantime.

Isn't the world beautiful?

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Wedding Files #6: Bridal Shower

I have wonderful friends and we all had a wonderful time together at my Bridal Shower on Saturday afternoon. My beautiful maid of honor planned everything flawlessly and everyone had a great time!
Food, girlfriends, and celebration. That's how I like to spend my weekend.

The beautiful models of the toilet paper dresses. They were brave and fabulous.

We had fun. Lots of it.

Warm and Fuzzy

It's chilly, cloudy, and almost Thanksgiving.
I'm hours (okay, two days) away from seeing my family and I have the warmest coat ever.
What is there not to feel all warm and fuzzy about?

The Warmest Coat In The World.
And it was--you guessed it--thrifted.
And that hood? Fleece-lined.
That's what I'm talking about.

And to top is all off, this morning I also got featured over on ColorBlind for my mad thrifting skills. Thanks so much to Shana for featuring me! If you haven't seen her blog, check it out. It's so adorable.

Party Weekend Part One

It has been a weekend of good times: Friday night Italian Study Abroad Reunion, Saturday afternoon Bridal Shower, and Saturday night Bachelorettes night out... I don't know if I've taken this many pictures since spending Thanksgiving Day at the Vienna Christmas market last year. It is now Sunday: Recovery Day.

So first up: Study Abroad Reunion. Our Program Director and Resident Assistant flew in from Florence to see us all and so we had a huge potluck for all the people who have been to the Florence campus over the last few years. So much fun.

Almost There

Top (actually a dress): Old Navy; Belt: thrifted; Skirt: thrifted; Leggings: TJ Maxx; Boots: Charlotte Russe

I woke up with a big sigh of relief on my lips. Thank God it is Friday.
What a long (but good!) week. Only two days of school until Thanksgiving and that break cannot come too soon. Five wonderful days with fiance and my family. Alleluia.

I picked up the pieces for these earrings at a flea market. Such a find.

I was equally proud of this belt, partially because I really do like the color yellow but never get to wear it because my skin is Scottish, and partially because the buckle is just really cool.

Here's to Fridays and great finds.

peace&love,
Jill
